Winter sowing begins soon. If you don't already know about winter sowing seeds...it's basically the process of sowing your seeds that need cold stratification in the winter and then letting nature do the work for you. I've been using this method for years and I've always had great success. I've learned to create crocheted flowers! It is so much fun and totally easy to do. They go great with the crocheted bracelets I make and will look cute on the hats I start making again in the winter. I was watching Knit and Crochet Today and decided to try it and was surprised at how much fun it was!

I'm mostly a "winter crocheter"...it's something that I do while it's cold and the snow is flying. But I do still have the urge to create as it gets warmer.
Time for warm winter hats and scarves is over... but there are still lots of things you can crochet that are appropriate for Spring and Summer. I found these links on Crochet Pattern Central and these are just a few of the things listed. Be sure to check out the site for more great ideas.

Glass marble magnets make a come-back!

I've started making glass gem / marble magnets again. At first I didn't know which shop to put them in but got the advice that since they're kind of "paper" items that I better put them in
Gypsy Wynd and maybe a few in my ArtFire studio . I think the one's with the vintage sheet music and the lily-pad green are my faves so far. They're pretty much strictly decorative as the magnets are not too strong but they're a great way to dress up your fridge without being too obtrusive.

Just returned from a small shopping trip to Hannah's in Antioch, IL. What fun!

They have such a HUGE selection of scrapbooking items that it's almost overwhelming. It took me over an hour to decided on what I wanted to get. I managed to finally decide on about 30 sheets of really pretty paper (which was 12/$1.00 ... what a deal!) plus some cute stamps, ink and a couple pieces of pretty fabric. They were also having some classes today but I was too busy shopping to take part. LOL

If you live in the SE Wisconsin or NE Illinois area...you should really check them out if you haven't already.
